Description

Dataset containing the records of ticks collected under the One Health surveillance project in Poland.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 19 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Sampling Methods

Ticks were collected by dragging a 1-m2 cloth (white flannel material) in selected areas such as woodlands, rural areas, trails . Samples wee collected by foresters who received the manua,l explaining the sampling procedure step by step. The forresters provided a precise data about sampling location (GPS coordinates, type of land etc.) in TBEV endemic areas.

Study Extent In 2024 tick were sampled by dragging in 3 provinces: Mazowieckie, Lubelskie Warminsko-Mazurskie

Method step description:

  1. "Method steps 1. Researchers from NVRI defined the appropriate sampling protocol for the target species. 2. Fieldwork was planned and coordinated by NVRI 3. Data was collected in the field by specialized personnel. 4. The collected data was entered into an EFSA database 5. The data was exported and manually corrected by experts 6.Data was sent to Vectornet and validated 7. The dataset is published and registered with GBIF. Quality control Data are collected using a predefined sampling protocol and checked by professionals"
