Métodos de Amostragem

To be conducted with host-seeking/gravid traps. Sampling will be focused on Culex pipiens, Culex modestus, Culex perexiguus, Culex torrentium, Culex univittatus etc. Ticks are collected using flagging method.

Área de Estudo Sampling area – selected sampling places in different parts of the country. Country-wide areas with suitable habitat for mosquitoes. Areas with suitable habitat for vectors: to be preferred areas where adult female mosquitoes lay eggs on the surface of fresh or stagnant water. Areas on the outskirts of cities and population centres, bordering forests and wetlands. Ticks are collected during the vector active period (usually March-September). Sampling frequency – samples will be collected during the vector active period weekly of every second week.

  1. "Method steps 1. Researchers from BIOR / CDPC defined the appropriate sampling protocol for the target species. 2. Fieldwork was planned and coordinated by BIOR and CDPC. 3. Data was collected in the field by trained personnel. 4.The collected data was sent to Vectornet and validated 5. The dataset is published and registered with GBIF. Quality control Data are collected using a predefined sampling protocol and checked by professionals"
