Description

Contain the first part of the mosquito data collected in Denmark by University of Copenhagen for the project OH4Surveillance during 2024. Second part of the 2024 data will be uploaded in 2025

Sampling Methods

The present mosquitoes are all collected as human landing catches during daytime without additional attractants or traps

Study Extent During 2024 Culex modestus were collected during daytime at a hot spot near Copenhagen airport during August and September

Method step description:

  1. Method steps: 1. to specifically target Culex modestus all collections were done as human bait and carried out before sun down 2. all collections were done at a known hot spot for Culex modestus 3. all collections were done during aug-sept when the species peaks in Denmark 4. all landing catches were done by experienced entomologist 5. collections were done when weather were optimal and when time permitted field visits 6. Data are sent to VectorNet and validated before registered with GBIF.
