Description

This dataset presents a curated list of freshwater Cladocera species (Crustacea: Branchiopoda) recorded across various freshwater habitats in Rajasthan, India. It is based on the faunistic survey conducted by S. Biswas and colleagues between 1957 and 1961 and later published in the Records of the Zoological Survey of India (1971). The data includes 45 species spanning multiple genera and families, structured according to the Darwin Core (DwC) metadata standard using R programming tools. Each record corresponds to a unique occurrence of a species and is annotated with taxonomic, geographic, and collection metadata to support reproducibility and integration into biodiversity information systems.

Geographic Coverage

Collections were done from the state of Rajasthan in India. Multiple specific sites were surveyed, including: Anasagar Lake (Ajmer), Sambhar Lake, Bhap Tank (Barmer), Julga Lake (Jaipur), Gadisar (Jaisalmer), Phulera, Dudu, Narayana, Gudha (Nagaur), Molasi (Sikar), and others.
