說明

The Natural History Museum of Denmark (NHM-DK), in collaboration with DanBIF and the University of Copenhagen’s Technology Unit, is digitizing the historic compilation Birds at the Danish Lighthouses, 1883–1939 to extract bird occurrence data from Lodbjerg Fyr and Hanstholm Fyr for an exhibition project. The process involves scanning and OCR by library staff, data transcription by volunteers from the Copenhagen Ornithological Society, and taxonomic validation by a team led by the Ornithology Curator, including researchers and postdoctoral students. The data will be published under a CC-BY license via DanBIF’s IPT instance, ensuring GBIF registration and open access.

地理涵蓋範圍

Description of Denmark: Denmark is a Nordic country in Northern Europe, part of the European Union, and renowned for its high quality of life, social welfare system, and sustainability efforts. It consists of the Jutland Peninsula and over 400 islands, with the largest being Zealand (home to the capital, Copenhagen), Funen, and Bornholm. It shares a land border with Germany to the south and is surrounded by the North Sea to the west, the Baltic Sea to the north, and Sweden to the east, separated by the Øresund Strait. Denmark is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy and a highly developed economy, excelling in renewable energy (especially wind power), design, agriculture, and technology. The country is known for its strong welfare state, social equality, and commitment to environmental sustainability. Culturally, Denmark has a rich Viking heritage and is the birthplace of figures like Hans Christian Andersen (author of fairy tales such as *The Little Mermaid*) and philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. Danish is the official language, and the society values *hygge* (a concept of coziness and comfortable conviviality). With landscapes ranging from coastal areas and forests to modern cities, Denmark is an appealing destination for its history, innovation, and balanced way of life.
