        <abstract>
            <para>Within VectorNet updated vector distribution maps, this targeted sand fly trapping was performed at chosen trapping sites in Moldova and Turkey based on the previous gap of knowledge analysis. In Moldova, the trapping aimed at update of the sand fly distribution, species composition and seasonality in Moldova, a country at the edge of sand fly distribution in Europe, compared to the data of a previous entomological survey performed in 2013-2017. In Turkey, field collections of sand flies were done in in Anatolia, eastern Turkey, as monthly collections conducted between April and November 2025 in Adana Province.</para>
