            <para>Within the context of VectorNet, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) publish regularly updated vector distribution maps, which are informed by a comprehensive review of the literature and data shared by experts, and also completed by targeted field studies. This study aimed at completing the distribution dataset for, in particular, Culex tritaeniorhynchus and other Culex species (such as Cs. modestus, Cx. theileri, Cx. perexiguus) in the Balkan countries and southern Italy. The obtained dataset includes all field data collected in June-October 2025 (657 data lines).</para>
