                    <para>(typically fertile) voucher specimens are collected, typically in 3 or 4-plicate in the field by specialized technicians or botanists, at field locations of which GPS coordinates are recorded; each collection gets a collection code and sequential number; identification is done at the National Herbarium of Suriname (BBS) by professional staff, using BBS library and reference specimens resources, as well as digital resources (such as GBIF); in difficult cases, identification support is requested from specialists abroad, based on digital images of the vouchers sent to them, or based on voucher duplicates being forwarded to them (e.g. to Cayenne Herbarium (CAY) or Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG))</para>
